What are the care instructions for my wood wick candle?

Wooden wick candles require a bit of extra care, each candle should include a burning instructions card. Your brand new candle will have the wick trimmed to the correct length, for subsequent burns trim your wick to 1/8” to 3/16”, removing any charred wood from the previous burn.

Make sure the melt pool reaches across the entire container each time you burn, this should take 2-3 hours. Don’t extinguish the candle before this occurs or you may experience tunneling. We recommend not burning your candle for more than 4 hours. Allow to cool completely before handling or moving your candle.

Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains.

To prevent fire and serious injury, burn your candle within sight. Keep away from drafts. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn your candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

What kind of wax and fragrance is used and is it 100% natural?

White Mountain Candles are made with 100% natural soy wax and soy coconut wax blends, these are sustainably produced, non-toxic, biodegradable, vegan, paraffin free waxes. They burn cleaner and slower than other wax blends. They are hand poured and made in small batches using premium fragrance oils and essential oils that are phthalate free.  The wooden wicks are ecofriendly and clean burning.

How long will my candle burn for?

White Mountain Candles are 10 oz and if burned following the burning instructions should burn for 50+ hours and 30+ hours for the 6 oz candles. Stop burning when ½” of wax is left in the bottom of the vessel. Its normal to have wax left in the bottom and the wick clip showing.

Why is my candle bumpy after burning?

This is normal for natural soy wax, it is caused by differential cooling of the wax.  It does not a affect the candles performance.

What do I do with the glass vessel when the candle is done?

Once your candle is done burning, put it in the fridge until the wax shrinks and can be removed from the vessel, then clean out the glass vessel with warm soapy water. Then it can be used for your favorite cocktail or morning orange juice. Or use as a pen holder/make up brush holder. Or it can be returned to White Mountain Candle Co. for a refill.

How do I store my candle?

Soy wax is sensitive to light and extreme temperatures. If you need to store your candle for an extended period of time try to find a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, to avoid melting, cracking and separation.
