Discover your new favorite clean burning candle. Made with 100% natural and sustainable coconut soy wax, phthalate and paraben free fragrance oils and essential oils, and eco friendly, crackling wood wicks that are handcrafted using wood sourced from FCS Certified Mills.
Soy and coconut wax are a vegetable wax derived from soybeans and coconuts, a renewable and sustainable source. These wax types burn slower than paraffin wax so your coconut soy candle will last longer, burn cleaner and result in less soot than paraffin.
Our candles are scented with phthalate-free premium fragrance oils and pure essential oils and burn with natural wooden wicks. Coconut soy wax candles have a beautiful scent throw with no harmful chemicals.
White Mountain Candle Co. was founded in January 2021 by Laura Metcalfe with the goal of creating a luxury brand of clean burning, sustainable and renewable candles to light and fill our homes with beautiful fragrance. When combined with Laura’s geology background and lifelong passion for the Rocky Mountains, the vision for White Mountain Candle Co. was born.
Our candles are now locally made in Canmore, Alberta and hand poured in small batches using 100% natural coconut soy wax. They are scented with phthalate-free premium fragrance oils and pure essential oils which, along with the crackling wooden wicks, ensures a clean burning candle.
White Mountain Candles are hand poured in small batches, they are either 10 oz or 6 oz 100% natural coconut soy candles with wooden wicks. The wax is a 100% natural coconut soy blend. The wooden wicks are made in the United States and are from Forest Steward Council (FSC) certified mills. They are non toxic, eco friendly and clean burning. Our fragrance oils are all phthalate-free and created using fine fragrance oils and pure essential oils sourced from around the globe.
Many candles on the market are paraffin or a paraffin blend wax that are petroleum based and emit toxic chemicals. Coconut soy are plant-based wax and much cleaner burning. Coconut soy and soy wax burns slower than paraffin wax candles giving you 30+ hours of burn time for the 6oz and 50+ hours of burn time for the 10oz.
Trimming your wooden wick is easy and should be done prior to burning your candle, every time. This step will increase the life of your candle because if your wick gets too long, the flame can become too large and consume your wax too quickly or alternatively, it will be too long to draw the wax up the wick and won't stay lit. Snap the charred part of the wick off with your fingers, wick cutters or nail clippers work well too. Discard the charred bits and light your candle for the optimal flame height.
Wooden wick candles require a bit of extra care. Each candle should include a burning instructions card or refer to the instructions on the box. Your brand new candle will have the wick trimmed to the correct length, for subsequent burns trim your wick to 1/8” to 3/16”, removing any charred wood from the previous burn.
Make sure the melt pool reaches across the entire container each time you burn, this should take 2-3 hours. Don’t extinguish the candle before this occurs or you may experience tunneling. We recommend not burning your candle for more than 4 hours. Allow to cool completely before handling or moving your candle.
Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains.
To prevent fire and serious injury, burn your candle within sight. Keep away from drafts. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn your candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
White Mountain Candles are made with 100% natural coconut soy wax blends which are sustainably produced, non-toxic, biodegradable, vegan, paraffin-free waxes. They burn cleaner and slower than other wax blends. They are hand poured and made in small batches using premium fragrance oils and essential oils that are phthalate-free. The wooden wicks are eco friendly and clean burning.
White Mountain Candles are 10 oz and, if the burning instructions are followed, should burn for 50+ hours and 30+ hours for the 6 oz candles. Stop burning when ½” of wax is left in the bottom of the vessel. It’s normal to have wax left in the bottom and the wick clip showing.
If minimal tunneling has occurred, let the candle burn for an extended period of time to correct the issue. Burn the candle for 2.5-3 hours at least twice.
I’ve been including these amazing local candles in my client gift baskets for over a year and the reviews have been excellent! Great burn and wonderful scents. Thanks White Mountain Candle Co!
I love the quality in White Mountain Candles because they burn so purely, with gentle, creative aromas. The unique wick burns in a way that reminds me of the crackle of a real fire & I love the mountain names of the Rockies that feel like home. One in every room & perfect for gifting.
White Mountain Candles are amazing! From ordering to delivery, everything was so easy. So many different fragrances and notes make it hard to decide which ones to order. I love the connection to the Rocky Mountains and Lakes. They burn evenly and cleanly (if you follow the instructions) and the wood wicks sound so nice when they are burning. I would definitely recommend these candles! Great gifts or just for yourself.
